Over the past few years, the kefir diet has not left the top positions in the popularity rankings. Reviews about it are very, very positive. And this is completely understandable. It is not common to come across a mono-diet whose main component can almost completely satisfy the body's needs for essential nutrients. Indeed, look at the composition of kefir: it contains proteins and carbohydrates (and carbohydrates of animal origin - which is generally very rare) and saturated fats, which the body needs to absorb fat-soluble vitamins and formsex hormones.
At the same time, kefir is a fermented milk product, which means that intolerance to lactose ("milk sugar", found in milk) will no longer be a problem. The kefir diet will allow you to improve the functioning of your gastrointestinal tract by introducing beneficial bacteria into your intestines (however, if you suffer from ulcers or other diseases of the digestive system, then such a diet is against younoted).
But of course, you need to understand that the content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates is not the only condition for qualifying a diet as effective and safe. As with any other diet, it is necessary to take vitamins, since by depriving yourself of certain types of foods, you deprive yourself of the vitamins and minerals they contain.
How much weight can you lose in 3 days, in a week, in 10 days?
I completely understand that this is the most important question, because before making sacrifices, we all want to know what benefits we will get in the end. I will disappoint you, there are no precise numbers, it all depends on the shape you are in at the moment. There are at least 2 options here:
- If your height is 170 cm and your weight is 110 kg, then you have clearly accumulated 40 to 50 extra pounds. In this case, you can easily lose 1-1. 5 kg per day on a kefir diet and lose 7 or even 10 kg per week.
- But if you are a sporty girl who, being 170 cm tall, decided to lose weight up to 55 kg with the current 65 kg, get ready for longer work.
In the first case, the weight will disappear quickly due to the loss of a large amount of fluid contained in the body due to the oxidation of visceral fat (this is the fat that envelops the internal organs) and losssimultaneous muscle.
And in the second case, the body does not actually have excess fat. There is only a little subcutaneous tissue, which is a strategic reserve of energy for the body, and from which it will only separate as a last resort. You should not expect to lose 10 kg in a week with kefir. Maximum 3 kg. Because your body does not have excess fluid and if you play sports it will not give up its muscles.
Kefir diet for 7 days and less 10 kg?
A very popular question on the Internet. As I have already explained, such a result is indeed possible, but for that you have to be really, really big. I would like to approach the question from a slightly different angle: which version of the kefir diet is the most popular and why you should never try it.
Today, the most common version of the kefir diet involves consuming one and a half liters of kefir per day. Additionally, depending on the duration of the diet, small portions of meat or vegetables can be added to the diet.
Let's see how long it will take us to find ourselves in a hospital bed, following such a menu.
We will consider the issue from the point of view of calorie content. Honestly, I don't believe in counting calories, but in this case it will be a good example.
If you have a sedentary job and move little, your body expends around 1000 kcal per day. It is needed to maintain brain function, maintain the functionality of internal processes such as breathing, blood supply, digestion and sometimes lifting a spoon.
100 grams of kefir contains 50 kcal, which means that by drinking 1. 5 liters of kefir per day and no longer eating food, you will get a maximum of 750 kcal per day. And you need at least 1000 kcal. On which organ will the body begin to save without providing energy? I don't want to check that.
Yes, if you want to try, of course, no one will stop you, but if you drink only kefir for more than three days in a row, you will continue your weight loss in the hospital on a glucose drip.
That is why, if we talk about the kefir diet, we should not focus only on it.
Let's look at the options for kefir diets, which involve the use of other products.
Apple kefir diet
Popular combination. But useless. An apple contains fructose, which basically equals carbohydrates. And excess carbs, as we know, is a direct path to fat gain. Consuming apples with kefir does not give any cumulative effect. And the apple only appears here because it is the most hypoallergenic fruit and the most present all year round. You can just as easily write about the kefir diet with a banana, pear or mango. But we all know the apple better. So they talk about it again and again, gradually turning it into some kind of super healthy weight loss product. And vegetables are much more effective in this regard.
Buckwheat kefir diet
It's already warmer. Buckwheat is one of these so-called "long-lasting" carbohydrates. They do not immediately give all their energy to the body, but do so gradually, without causing sharp spikes in blood sugar levels. To be fair, it is worth noting that not only buckwheat has a similar effect. And oatmeal, pearl barley and barley have the same properties. Therefore, you should not focus only on buckwheat: the more varied the menu, the better.
Kefir diet with meat
But it's not very good. As we have already said, kefir is a product of animal origin. On a kefir diet, you are already consuming a lot of animal protein and fat. There is no need to overload the liver and kidneys with the same. In addition, a kefir diet can heal your pancreas (or rather, the body itself will heal it during the period of avoiding fatty foods), and the addition of meat will negate such a pleasant side effect. Therefore, you should not dilute your diet with boiled or even fried meat. Maybe just fish. But very rarely. No more than once a week.
And now that we have already acquired a little theory, let's create our ideal menu based on kefir, on which you can hold out long enough to achieve the expected effect, and without harming yourself.
Kefir diet. menu of the week
No, of course, you can last 2 weeks with such a menu, and some even a month, but practice shows that the most visible result comes precisely in the first week. Then the effect diminishes sharply.
Breakfast
This is the time when we can eat carbohydrates and nothing will happen to us in return. Therefore, we will eat porridge for breakfast. As we have already discovered, it can be anyone. Buckwheat, barley, oatmeal. A piece of butter won't hurt at all. The main thing to remember is that porridge should be cooked from cereals, and not from an instant bag.
The drink will be either water or unsweetened tea or coffee.
Lunch
Kefir. One or two drinks. To reduce the feeling of hunger.
Dinner
For lunch we will eat a vegetable salad. Ideally, it will consist of cabbage or cucumbers and tomatoes. These are those vegetables that mainly contain fiber to maintain normal digestion and do not contain starch, which is a fast carbohydrate. You can also add green vegetables to the salad: arugula, sorrel, etc. Greek salad would also be a very good choice. You can drink unsweetened tea or coffee.
All. This is where the turning point comes. After lunch, only kefir is on your menu. There is no need to limit yourself to certain portions and times of administration. We felt headaches and drank a glass of kefir. And it doesn't matter how many drinks you get per day. It doesn't matter what time you drink it. The main thing is not to be hungry. This is a very important point. Do not let your body know that you are dieting, otherwise it will deliberately slow down your metabolism and the effectiveness of the diet will sharply decrease.
It is very important to drink clear water. It's easy to miss this point on a kefir diet. Therefore, set a specific time to drink water. Ideally, one glass immediately after waking up, a little before lunch and two glasses before bed.
That's all. The further path is up to you. As long as you can stick to, dare I say it, a lean menu, you can lose weight that much. On average, this represents 3 to 4 kg per week.
Remember one thing: no diet makes sense if, after it, you go back to eating the same way as before.
My advice is that after the kefir diet, gradually return to a normal diet. Leave the vegetables for lunch, but add meat broth to them. Remove kefir from dinner, but replace it not with carbohydrates, but with protein foods: meat, fish, eggs. By gradually switching to a regular diet, you will be able to maintain the results achieved and choose a diet that will be both tasty and healthy for you in the future.
P. S. No need to blindly copy what is offered to you as a universal recipe. Spend a few hours of your time, but create a menu that suits you. An individual approach always guarantees results!
